Activities Are Networking Opportunities

Anyone who has ever made a friend in the produce section or in line at the grocery knows that any activity can be a networking opportunity.

In November, I posted a daily networking tip. Below are the last eight tips.

Tip 23: Start a podcast! If you do not have a podcast, what are you waiting for? Having an online platform is a wonderful way to develop a relationship with the people on your wish list. A place to interview someone is a reason to reach out. It’s that simple.

Tip 24: Email an Author. Reach out to an author of a book that has impacted you with a note of appreciation. Bonus points for leaving a book review.

Tip 25: Respond to a Query. Whether you are an expert, entrepreneur, author, or all of the above, it’s likely you are always looking for press to elevate your thought leadership and business status. Look through the queries on Source of Sources, Qwoted, or another platform, and respond.

Tip 26: Find a way or a place to volunteer. Volunteering is a wonderful way to meet new people while putting good into the world. Need a recommendation? Ask a friend. #doublenetworking

Tip 27: Extend an invitation. Invite someone over for a meal, out for coffee, or to be a guest on your podcast.

Tip 28: Write a Thank You Note. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tip 29: Support a Friend’s Business, It’s #BlackFriday today. Tomorrow is #SmallBusinessSaturday. Support a friend’s business by posting about – and tagging – them on social media.

Tip 30: Make a future networking plan. I declared November as #Networking Month, and posted a new tip every day! In truth, every day, week, and month you typically have opportunities to meet new people, grow your network, and/or develop relationships.

You can’t reach your goals on your own, you need your people. Prioritize networking and set yourself up for success.
